We are looking for a Cyber Security Risk Lead to join our Cyber Security Leadership team. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Risk, you will lead a team to drive maximum value delivered by our cyber security risk services for all Emera Canadian companies (Nova Scotia Power, Emera Inc., Emera Energy, Emera New Brunswick, and Emera Newfoundland and Labrador) where we offer you a Hybrid Policy work option.
We offer hybrid work opportunities, to be discussed with your leader, however you are required to live in or be willing to relocate to Nova Scotia for this role.
As the successful candidate, you will lead a team in the timely delivery of value-added cyber security risk services within our information and operational technology environments. This lead role will be well-suited to an experienced IT/OT team lead or risk professional looking to expand their career and develop their leadership responsibilities in an environment with significant investment in technological innovation.
This role will support the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Risk in the delivery of oral and written reports to senior management and make recommendations for improvements to the organization’s cyber security processes and systems.
This will be accomplished by building trusting and effective relationships with management in the evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls that support the most significant information technology systems and platforms for all Emera Canadian companies.

Key elements of this role include:
In collaboration with the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Risk, you will translate enterprise cyber risk requirements, cyber security policies and standards into technical control requirements and specifications, as well as develop and implement key cyber security metrics for ongoing performance measurement and reporting. Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of professionals in the delivery of security-based risk assessments for internal controls and processes, third party service providers, along with business and technology sponsored projects and initiatives.
- Continuous improvement of these practices, and ability to self-drive risk reduction into corporate culture.
- Proven ability to build trusting relationships with internal customers and drive risk remediation decisions, and where applicable, assist with remediation through policy/standard/procedure development and protective/detective controls.
- Building and maintaining an organizational risk profile through knowledge gained from performed risk assessments, and awareness of critical business assets.
- Presenting and communicating the organizational risk profile through the effective management reporting of key risks for all Emera Canadian companies.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience
As a visible face for both our IT and OT customers, you must always act with tact, diplomacy, and assertiveness to enforce our standards. You are comfortable using your knowledge of cyber security standards and best practices, such as ISO 27000 and NIST, to assist in the creation of persuasive policy and procedures to influence security culture. Most of all, you have an in-depth understanding of the inter-relationships of business and information technology, understand compliance and regulatory requirements, and can work closely with business units to ensure that they understand risks and effective risk treatment strategies. You must also be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and leading a team of professionals in their development, workload management, coaching and performance evaluation.
