Applications for the program will be opening on February 15th, 2022 for learners who are interested in pursuing an entry-level career as an IT Support Specialist or as a Cybersecurity Analyst. Designed to support those who have traditionally faced barriers entering Nova Scotia’s tech sector, Get Into IT is a no cost program for training and upskilling Indigenous Persons, Black Nova Scotians, persons of African Descent, racially visible individuals, persons with disabilities, immigrants, and women. Participants must be 18+, unemployed or underemployed*, have a high school diploma, GED certificate or a referral from a community organization, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and are a Nova Scotia resident. Professional development, industry networking opportunities, and in-course support will also be offered as part of this 25-week technical skills training program.
