Join us virtually on Monday, September 23 for our inaugural Dal Business Society Showcase. There are more than a dozen business student societies in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management, and we are providing you with the opportunity to learn about all of them. At this virtual event, each student society will have three minutes to present their value proposition. Post-event, attendees will receive contact information for each society. You choose who you wish to follow up with from our Bachelor of Commerce Co-op, Bachelor of Management, and Corporate Residency MBA societies, and you will then be able to build and strengthen relationships with the societies best aligned with your organization’s recruitment strategies. Click here to register.

SOLVE REAL-WORLD CHALLENGES ON EARTH & IN SPACE The NASA Space Apps Challenge, an innovative and public engagement initiative under NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, is coming to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2024. This global event aims to promote transparency, participation, and collaboration by making NASA's and its Space Agency Partners' data openly available to the public. The NASA Space Apps Challenge consists of two programs: the NASA International Space Apps Challenge and the NASA Space Apps Collective. Both programs encourage creative solutions to real-world problems using the extensive data provided by NASA. Funded by NASA's Earth Science Division through a contract with Booz Allen Hamilton, Mindgrub, and SecondMuse, the event is supported by the NASA Space Apps Global Organizing (GO) Team. This team, composed of members from these organizations, provides guidance and support to Local Leads and participants throughout the NASA Space Apps experience, fostering community engagement year-round. GEO Nova Scotia presents GEO Forum 2024 – Nova Scotia’s first-ever, Digital Inclusion conference.

GEO FORUM 2024 is a free, virtual conference happening on October 9, 2024, focused on Digital Inclusion in Nova Scotia – making sure everyone has the access, tools, and skills to be online. Hosted by GEO Nova Scotia, this event is all about bringing together people from government, industry, and community to talk about how we are closing the digital divide, together. The forum will feature a keynote, plenary session with an all-Scottish panel including the founders of the Mhor Collective who deliver Digital Champions programming across the country, and representatives from the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organizations (SCVO), which is responsible for a number of innovative digital inclusion initiatives like Connecting Scotland and Connecting to Care. The day will include breakout sessions on important topics like education, employment, and mental health. Attendees can also participate in a Digital Champions training session to gain tips, tools, and insights into helping others gain digital skills. Things wrap up in-person at the Halifax Convention Centre that evening with the Nova Scotia Digital Inclusion Awards which will be livestreamed.
