IGNITE is again hosting its annual $100 Youth Startup Challenge! This four-day Summer Camp provides youth with an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and gain hands-on experience in creating products and starting and running a business. At the start of the Camp, the participants are given $100 to create their own idea and bring it to life. Throughout the week they will work through the process of developing their business until the final day when they take their product “to Market” to sell. The students will keep all profits earned. The goal is to encourage creativity and resourcefulness, as well as to teach participants how to manage a budget and make smart business decisions. Creating an open and inclusive work environment that attracts and retains diverse talent has never been more essential to remain competitive. 2SLGBTQ+ people working in markets across Canada experience various workplace cultures and barriers to inclusion unique to this population. Despite progress toward wholly inclusive and diverse workplace environments, more must be done regarding stigmatization, higher risk of harassment, intersectionality, and lack of visibility, especially for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) people.
