2024 ANNUAL FALL DINNER

Halifax Convention Centre 1650 Argyle St, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

ENERGY CREATION + STORAGE Let's power Nova Scotia towards a brighter tomorrow Dalhousie’s expert faculty and Halifax-based business partners will deliver a TED Talk-style presentation on the innovative and revolutionary work being done here in Halifax to deliver clean energy locally, nationally, and globally. As the world transitions towards sustainable practices, Nova Scotia is unique in its vast opportunities in the renewable energy sector. Our proximity to natural resources like our oceans, wind and natural gas allow us to harness the full potential of renewable energy in the province. This important and necessary move to electric and renewable energies will require double the energy usage in the coming years. To get there, we’ll need to explore emerging technologies, identify areas for collaboration and partnership, and accelerate and build the infrastructure for the transition. Is our grid ready? Join us at the 2024 Fall Dinner to discover how collaboration can unlock these resources, drive economic growth, and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for the province.

BSides Halifax 2024

6050 University Ave 6050 University Ave, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

BSides Halifax is proud to announce our 4th (becoming annual!) Halifax BSides conference! The event will once again be held IRL (in real life), but this time in the fall on Thursday, November 14th, 2024. It will be another great day filled with talks and the chance to spend time with fellow security enthusiasts, as well as some muffins, hopefully. For this go round we are partnerning with ShiftKey Labs and will be holding the event at Dalhousie's Computer Science building. As always, all are welcome, be they battle-hardened analysts, DC902 stalwarts, application security experts, or those new to the field. As we did last year, we are offering tickets for a minimum donation of $13.37 (we'll keep this price point as long as we possibly can). All proceeds will again go to Feed Nova Scotia, because grocery prices haven't gotten any better since last time. We are looking forward to seeing everyone mid November and are excited by the chance to hold the event at a larger venue. We'll have some old favorites and a fresh batch of talks and activities to enjoy. Get your ticket before they're gone! (Agenda will be released when confirmed, though the event will […]
