Volta’s Women Taking over the World with Tech (WTWT) Virtual Pitch Competition is a chance for founders identifying as women within the Atlantic Canadian tech ecosystem, to practice their three-minute pitch and vie for a $500 Visa Gift Card. This event provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to practice their pitches and receive feedback from a panel of industry experts. The judging panel is comprised of experienced entrepreneurs, potential investors and community leaders. Judging will be based on the pitch, not the business, and will focus on presentation quality and content. Apply to Pitch: Are you interested in applying for your chance to pitch? Install a new theme or plugin, set up WooCommerce, create a new page ... it's up to you. Show off your website to everyone, pair up and help each other, or work alone - it's your choice. Each startup has a special surprise for visitors which we'll keep under wraps until the big day. This Startup Crawl is all about getting back together in a fun and social way, while experiencing what startups look like in Halifax. How does it work? A Startup Crawl is exactly what it sounds like. It brings our startup ecosystem together for a journey to different businesses over the night, full of networking opportunities, catchup sessions, interactive experiences, with lots of fun surprises along the way. They welcome all who are curious about the startup ecosystem and are open to exciting experiences. Doors open at Deloitte (1741 Lower Water St.) at 5:30PM for our crawlers to grab their maps, schedules, t-shirts, and important information before the crawl starts. The crawl begins at 6:00PM with participants starting to fan out across the city. BSides Halifax is proud to announce their 3rd (nearly annual) Halifax BSides conference! This time IRL (in real life). Fresh off the heels of AtlSecCon, they are testing the waters for in-persons event with a small and intimate venue (the Halifax Central Library BMO room). But don't let the size fool you, this one-day event will be packed full of great talks for your fellow security enthusiast. Tickets will be very limited this year and are available for a minimum "donation" of $13.37 (see what they did there). As with their previous BSides, all proceeds go to Feed Nova Scotia, because have you seen grocery prices lately? They are looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few weeks!
