We’ll offer you the tools, examples, and personal support your organization needs so immigrant colleagues can shine! Our workshops are highly interactive with breakout rooms, Google Jamboards, and other activities to engage participants. In this 90-minute workshop for staff, managers, and directors with interest in recruitment and interviews, we identify barriers that interfere with effective recruitment and interviewing for immigrant newcomers, and we propose solutions. Tech Wednesdays with NPower Canada

More than 80% of NPower Canada alumni secure employment or enroll in higher education within 6 months of graduating, with 30-40% already placed into jobs upon completing training. Graduates launch digital careers in roles such as Help Desk Agent, Data Analyst, QA / Tester and Business Systems Analyst with companies like TELUS, Accenture and CIBC. NPower Canada is a registered charity launching underserved young adults ages 17-30 into meaningful digital careers. NPower Canada's virtually delivered programs provide youth with 15 weeks of no-cost, part-time tech skills training, including industry certifications, complemented by employability skills coaching and wraparound supports (including bus pass, interview clothing and laptops/WiFi based on financial need). Program participants are also connected directly with employers, job retention supports and five years of alumni services including continued education and mentorship. Youth do not need any prior background in tech to apply. They must have completed their high school, Dogwood or GED, and be eligible to work in Canada. NPower Canada prioritizes serving lower-income, un/underemployed youth who are female-identified, IBPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, newcomers and youth with disabilities.
