ADVANTAGE 2021: A Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Conference

A virtual women's leadership conference hosted by the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce, presented by the Scotiabank Women Initiative We are so excited to be hosting our first-ever Advantage Conference as a virtual experience* on Friday, February 26. Advantage 2021 is an opportunity to bring together a community of women to connect, learn, and grow together through covering topics and encouraging discussion around the important shift that is happening with women in the world of business and entrepreneurship. This conference will feature keynote speaker Barb Stegemann, the best-selling author of The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen, a woman’s guide to living and leading in an illogical world, whose pitch led her to be the first woman from Atlantic Canada to land a venture-capital deal on the CBC TV show Dragons’ Den. In addition to Stegemann, there will be several local, women speakers from various professions and sectors. An official event of the Women Entrepreneurship Conference; a free, month-long event series, presented by the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) in partnership with Women Enterprise Organizations of Canada (WEOC). Entrepreneurial stereotypes shape the design of funding programs, incubators and training, and influence financing decisions. Perhaps more importantly, they shape the aspirations and confidence of women.
