Women Leading in Building Peace and Security
Strug Concert Hall 1385 Seymour St, HalifaxHosted by the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security To commemorate this year’s International Day of Peace, the Dallaire Institute is hosting a one-day workshop and an evening plenary session, open to the public. The workshop will focus on the vital role of women in addressing peace and security in our divided world, featuring two panels that bring together researchers and practitioners. These discussions will highlight women’s often unrecognized leadership in tackling urgent peace and security challenges, especially those that negatively impact children. The evening plenary session will include a special video appearance by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and a dialogue between the former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and youth activists from the Middle East and Africa.
