Presented by: Quick Start Guide to Digital Accessibility for Nova Scotia Businesses Launch Nova Scotia businesses use digital materials and media, such as websites, PDF documents, videos, etc., so their customers and the public, can get information, ask questions, and purchase goods and services. Making this space more accessible for people with different disabilities is crucial. In this lunch, Lisa Snider from Access Changes Everything Inc. will present survey results from the recent Nova Scotia Business Online Accessibility Survey. In this survey, Nova Scotians with disabilities, and those who support us, shared their lived experiences, when accessing Nova Scotia business related digital media and materials, such as websites, PDF documents, videos, etc.These ‘first voice’ results were used to help form the free Quick Start Guide to Digital Accessibility for Nova Scotia Businesses. ACENET: Introductory Programming with R

This workshop series is hands-on, covering the fundamentals of R, including data types, functions, importing, manipulating and analyzing data and data visualization as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using R in everyday tasks. You do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented or previous programming experience but intermediate level experience with a computer is highly recommended. You do need to have a laptop with a Mac, Linux or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc) on which you have administrative privileges, as you will need to pre-load specific software packages. This workshop will take place on: Wednesday, October 18th, 1:00 - 4:30pm (Atlantic) Wednesday, October 25th, 1:00 - 4:30pm (Atlantic) Joining instructions will be provided prior to the first session.
