“Government Adoption of Cloud and Intelligent Automation: Driving Change Together!” Wednesday June 1, 2022 Scroll down to agenda… Though the economic case for government-wide adoption of Cloud was made more than a decade ago, progress in Canada remains uneven. In fact, despite considerable dialogue, adoption of Cloud remains at less than 10 per cent! TECHNATION put forward recommendations in 2015 and then again in 2019 calling on Government to accelerate Cloud adoption, prioritize in-house Cloud education and training, adopt a different operating model, and more. Unfortunately, Government remains hesitant to use leading-edge tech like Intelligent Automation to accelerate progress on delivering broader public policy objectives for Canada. That’s not to say that nothing was done; the Government of Canada did make some critical investments in digital government, which enabled it to respond quickly to citizens’ needs. But as we emerge from the pandemic, how do we ensure government continues – and accelerates – its modernization efforts to fully embrace Cloud and Intelligent Automation to deliver modern services while keeping Canadians’ information safe and secure?
