DeepSense Discovery Session – CIOOS Atlantic

Ocean observation is important to understand how our oceans are changing and predicting how our coasts and fisheries are affected by those changes. Increasing the availability and sharing of ocean science and data ensures Canadians can safely navigate through our coastal waters, maintain our coastal economy, and build resilient coastal infrastructure. The Government of Canada has invested in the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS) to improve coordination and collaboration among the national and international ocean research community. CIOOS will promote the sharing of data and expertise to support a wide variety of research efforts to better understand, monitor and manage activities in Canada’s oceans.

*DeepSense Discovery Sessions provide students from any academic institution with an interest in data science and the ocean sector to learn more about the ocean economy, ocean data, participate in challenges presented by ocean-related companies, and explore the potential of a career in ocean data. Any student is welcome to attend any and all DeepSense sessions. DeepSense Discovery Sessions are held Mondays at 2pm AST.
