This major event will highlight new products and services developed in our region aimed at Health and Wellness in general and, specifically, at assisting Seniors to age well in Atlantic Canada and throughout the world. Refreshments will be provided.
The opening session will feature Start-ups and early-stage companies providing products or services geared to Health and Seniors “pitching” their businesses. This will be followed by a refreshments break and the second session where a number of organizations and individuals will present exciting projects and innovative approaches to enhancing the health care system and the quality of life for seniors. There will be both demo and information booths which will provide the opportunity to view some amazing products and learn about services available to seniors.
Session 1-Global Innovation Showcase-Pitch Competition: Aging2.0 is a worldwide organization which has as its’ goal to accelerate innovation to address the biggest challenges and opportunities in ageing. It has more than 90 Chapters on 6 continents including our Halifax Chapter. The winner of the Halifax Chapter GIS “pitch” event will be selected by a panel of experts and will be featured across the Aging2.0 global network and will receive publicity, recognition and prizes. Session 2-Innovative Approaches to Health and Supporting Seniors and Caregivers: In this session, we will highlight initiatives in Atlantic Canada and beyond aimed at enhancing Health Care and Wellness and supporting Seniors in all aspects of their lives. Areas to be covered include; Health initiatives, Innovations in Long Term Care and in Home Care as well as opportunities for Seniors to contribute to our communities and to grow our economy. Promoting “Aging Well” at all ages is our overall objective! This section will spotlight both government-sponsored and private sector initiatives that will help put Nova Scotia at the forefront of innovation in the Health, Wellness and Senior’s Segments.
The event will be live-streamed so that the 90+ Aging2.0 Chapters around the world can tune in as well as any other groups or organizations who are interested (A copy of the video will also be kept online for future viewing).
This is a not to be missed event which presents an opportunity for anyone interested in Innovation and Seniors to learn about some great startups and initiatives in Atlantic Canada and to network with startup founders, innovators and support organizations!
