Program Security Advisor

About the role

The candidate will support LM Canada programs by joining a multi-disciplined team environment working on the implementation and enforcement of Government and Company Security Policy.

  • Management of the contract security program requirements as it relates to the various programs
    • Responsible for SRCLs & associated clauses for contracts and subcontracts
    • Liaising with subcontractors and partners to provide guidance on the program security requirements.
    • Supporting program specific IT inspections & physical security inspections
    • Navigating the Contract Security Program nuances and finding solutions to issues unique to each program
    • Providing support and implementation guidance for overall project security strategy, in the areas of physical, information and supply chain security.
  • Point of contact for Program staff regarding security
    • Establishes strong working relationships with both program and functional teams within the Lockheed Martin Canada organization to support the achievement of program commitments and objectives
    • Advising on security processes and procedures for:
      • Document security markings
      • Visits to LM Facilities
      • Data & document handling protocols
      • Initial data spill mitigation steps
    • Coordinate with all necessary stakeholders to pull together all the required information for the development, implementation, and completion of transportation plans for the movement of classified information.
  • Active participant in working groups & meetings
    • Must take a proactive and collaborative approach to both understanding and resolving complex issues
    • Represents Lockheed Martin in international working groups and ensures follow-up on any assigned action items
    • Main POC for customer counterparts
  • Program Management
    • Responsible for identifying security issues that may impact program performance to the PM team while offering proposed solutions and mitigation measures
    • Escalation of security related matters to the Program Security Manager that cannot be resolved at the senior rep. level and providing proposed solutions and a summary of actions taken to date.
    • Responsible for the management and coordination of Program Security deliverables

What you bring to the role

  • Must have working level knowledge of the Contract Security Program including the Canadian Government subcontracting process.
  • Ability to understand and manage multiple interconnected complex taskings at once
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and communicate issues and actions clearly and concisely; bringing actions to closure
  • Sense of accountability and drive to bring issues to closure / find solutions. Demonstrated initiative and ability to seek out answers to questions and problems
  • Ability to pull together data from a variety of sources, to create plans and reports
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as delivering presentations; must be able to effectively communicate across all management levels
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team as required.
  • Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Knowledge of and ability to implement practical document control and organization practices for files and records related to Program Security
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory security requirements, including security clearances for individuals, organizations and facilities, information security and supply chain
  • Organized, with advanced understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Must be comfortable making sound recommendations to the program on how to handle and implement security requirements.
  • Ability to interpret security policy for practical implementation
  • International Security Compliance experience an asset
