As an Okta Developer you will make an impact by improving identity and access management through intelligent automation and secure integrations. You’ll lead all aspects of design and develop scalable identity solutions for enhanced efficiency and digital trust. Your work will positively contribute to how thousands of users interact securely with systems every day. You will be a valued member of our Cybersecurity IAM practice and work collaboratively with our Senior Cybersecurity Architect.
In this role, you will
- Craft and build multifaceted Okta Workflows to automate user lifecycle and governance tasks across systems.
- Implement secure, scalable integrations using Okta APIs, Hooks, Connectors, and custom scripts in Python and Java.
- Manage development of CRUD operations through SCIM provisioning via Okta Connectors and APIs.
- Build governance and compliance controls using Okta Workflows and Okta IGA for access requests and reviews.
- Configure and fine tune Okta features such as:
- SSO, Universal Directory, MFA/Adaptive MFA
- Authentication, Enrollment, and Global Session Policies
- API Access Management and Active Directory integrations
- Automate reporting and identity insights using Python scripts and Okta APIs.
- Integrate HR systems to optimize onboarding/offboarding using a mix of scripts, Okta Workflows, and IGA.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- A proven track record of 10 or more years in Okta development, especially in Workflow automation and identity governance
- Proficient in Java and Python for building scalable IAM solutions
- Outstanding experience with SCIM, Okta Hooks, and API-based integrations
- Detailed knowledge of AD environments and HR system integrations
- Top-tier ability to build secure, reliable, and user-friendly IAM experiences
What will help you stand out (preferred skills)
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and reporting tools is an added bonus
- Superb interpersonal skills with a continuous learning approach.
