About Kim Bustin, Mara Consulting
Proud to lead Mara Consulting’s growing Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice, Kim is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Information Privacy Professional. She has 30 years of experience in privacy and access, enterprise risk management, privacy program and policy development, and corporate planning – and tackling tough challenges head-on. Before joining Mara Consulting in 2015 as a Principal, Kim founded and led a successful privacy consulting business. Prior to beginning her consulting career, she was the Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Enterprise Risk & Information Management for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and she held leadership roles within Nova Scotia Power and Deloitte.
Kim is known for her strong work ethic and the dedication and energy she brings to her profession, her team, and her clients. She is respected for the structured and risk-based approach she applies to complex information privacy challenges faced by customers navigating change, working with them to build customized solutions. To this end, she has led organization and government-wide privacy impact assessments and developed privacy management programs within the private and public sectors in such areas as digital health; digital identity and access management; education; regulated gaming, cannabis and beverage alcohol; municipal, provincial, and federal governments and many other domains.
