Ashley, Welcome to Digital Nova Scotia!

We love team updates, and we can hardly believe we get to do two in just one week! The team here at Digital Nova Scotia is excited to welcome our new friend Ashley Field! Ashley will be managing the marketing & communications needs for our organization, alongside Caitlin and Jena. If you read a little more, you'll see Ashley loves to share stories, so please reach out and say hello - we know she'd love to meet you. Tell us about yourself! I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and before joining Digital Nova Scotia, I worked as a broadcast journalist for nearly 10 years. I spent the first part of my career working in Saskatchewan, before making the move to beautiful Halifax in 2019. I love meeting new people, and I am a passionate storyteller, with a keen interest in video and photography. I have a loving and supportive husband, a beautiful baby girl and a terrier mix named KC. What excites you the most about the tech sector in Nova Scotia? The growth and the potential. It's so exciting to see all the amazing things that are happening in tech right here in Nova Scotia. I am personally interested in how technology is being used to help improve and innovate healthcare. While you work, what do you have playing in the background? Fun fact about me, I cannot focus if I'm listening to music. But while I'm not working/reading/writing, we usually always have music on in the house -- and I honestly love all genres: jazz, 90s hits, reggae, you name it! What’s something you're passionate about that would surprise us? I'm a pretty open book, but one thing that might be surprising is that I'm a huge fan of Rupaul's Drag Race? I've seen every episode. I've also always been super interested in psychology and people, and so I recently decided to take some courses at Saint Mary's University to continue learning! What three items you cannot live without (excluding food, water etc-)? My kobo/library card, coffee, planner.
