Senior Full Stack Developer (Node.js / React / AWS)

Position Description: At CGI, we are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a senior developer who has extensive experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting production-grade applications in modern cloud environments. The successful candidate will be a hands-on developer capable of owning features from design through deployment and production support. This role requires strong backend expertise in Node.js, modern frontend development with React, and significant experience working in AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and event-driven architectures. Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build modern React applications and integrate them with backend services.
• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server.
• Develop and optimize relational database solutions using PostgreSQL.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Build highly available cloud-native applications using AWS services including Lambda, ECS, SQS, RDS, API Gateway, and related services.
• Design, deploy, and support production applications while participating in production troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Own features throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps practices.
• Build and maintain Docker images and containerized applications deployed through AWS ECS and/or Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and cross-functional teams within Agile delivery teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimations, code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on Node.js backend development.
• Strong experience building and supporting production-grade applications.
• Strong experience developing full-stack applications using Node.js and React.
• Extensive experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka in production environments.
• Extensive experience working with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, ECS, SQS, RDS, API Gateway, and IAM.
• Experience deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting applications in production.
• Strong experience using Redis for caching and application performance optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Experience with container orchestration using AWS ECS and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Agile software delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of Git, GitHub workflows, and code review practices.

Asset qualifications:

• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Experience building high-volume transaction processing systems.
• Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions.
• Experience designing highly available cloud-native architectures.
• Experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy. #LI-HG #INDCGIC Skills:
