Quality Analyst (Python/ API Testing)

Position Description: CGI is seeking a skilled Quality Analyst to join our team in support of a leading banking client. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. Working closely with software developers, business analysts, and project teams, you will build automation frameworks, validate APIs and backend services, and contribute to continuous quality improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. This opportunity is ideal for a quality automation professional with strong hands-on Python programming skills, experience with Robot Framework, and a passion for delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, requiring four days per week onsite. Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions using Python and Robot Framework.
• Develop reusable Python automation libraries, scripts, and test frameworks to support functional, integration, regression, and API testing.
• Perform API testing and backend validation to ensure application reliability and performance.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and support end-to-end testing activities.
• Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand business requirements and define test strategies.
• Execute manual and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track software defects while working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Support testing activities within Linux environments and participate in release validation and production readiness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing automation coverage, testing processes, and quality engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and team collaboration activities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Quality Automation.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with Python, including developing and maintaining automation scripts and reusable test frameworks.
• Experience developing automated test solutions using Robot Framework.
• Working knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience performing API testing using RESTful services and API testing tools.
• Strong SQL skills with experience validating and analyzing data in relational databases.
• Experience working within Linux environments.
• Experience designing and executing functional, integration, regression, and automated test cases.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$80,000 CAD. This role is an existing vacancy. #LI-HG Skills
