Digital Nova Scotia Sets Benchmark with New Board

On Sept. 29th we announced that 46% of our new Board Directors are women. This is a significant achievement as it more than doubles the National average and goes beyond the 30% target introduced by the Government of Canada in July.

Special Edition DNS Tech Lounge  (Nov. 17th)
We are hosting our popular Tech Lounge in conjunction with Innovacorp’s Student and Start-Up Meet ‘n Greet! We encourage DNS members and industry stakeholders to attend this session, in particular, those who are looking to hire co-op students. Our last Tech Lounge had over 80 attendees, so this aims to be a great networking session! Details available here.

Treat yourself to an overview session

Immigration is a very complex topic and often misunderstood. In this Business 101 Session, Mary Jane MacKinnon will provide an overview of the NS Office of Immigration and some of its key initiatives – specifically, Express Entry – Canada’s new economic immigration system coming in January 2015. ProductCamp Atlantic, taking place on Oct. 25th, is a one-day, user-driven, collaborative “unconference” for anyone interested in designing, building, launching and marketing great products.

DNS Sponsors the NS Digital Bridge Scholarship

DNS is pleased to sponsor and support the new Nova Scotia Digital Bridge Scholarship. This educational initiative, a joint partnership between Junior Achievement Nova Scotia and Torusoft, was launched across the province earlier this month. The Nova Scotia Digital Bridge Scholarship will enable secondary school students to learn computer programming and related skills, through free access to online learning materials and dedicated mentorship.
