The course is designed for IT sector companies in Atlantic Canada and their HR/Recruitment teams. By enrolling in this course, you are taking the next step to allow your company to find, recruit, and retain top tech talent in the Atlantic Canadian region, specifically hiring within Nova Scotia.

The availability of talent is one of the biggest limitations for growth within local organizations, and trained and informed hiring managers not only help to scale up Nova Scotian students and residents, but also attract and hire foreign talent. Industry professionals will discuss labor market trends, where to source candidates, conduct interviews and references, and review the end-to-end hiring process over the course of six sessions.

A mixture of learning mediums including lectures, group discussion, role-play, and interactive activities and quizzes will be used to help solidify knowledge gained throughout the course. Instructors will also be available outside of session hours to allow for 1-on-1 questions and discussions on our local sector and its unique recruitment and retention needs.

Who should take this course?

The course is tailored to hiring managers companies focused in the IT Sector. There are no prerequisites.

If your business is not yet generating revenue from commercial activity, you may be eligible for funding if you are in an LAE identified priority sector (See Section 4.2)

Digital Nova Scotia will facilitate the funding process based on the information provided in the application below. Employees must be receiving full-time compensation while in training to be eligible for WIPSI funding. This may include employees who are full-time seasonal.
