This hands-on, although virtually held, workshop series assists Scrum team members in optimizing their teamwork and product delivery methods. This program gives organizations an opportunity to learn the mechanics of Scrum concepts and how to apply them. Throughout this course, you’ll work through exercises related to a Scrum project, from vision to iterative delivery, learning to respond quickly to changes without hassles in traditional project change management.

The program consists of eight 2-hour sessions, which include breakout exercises for small groups. Upon completion of this program, you will have worked through all aspects of a Scrum project and know how to apply the Scrum concepts. The program includes a workbook with exercises for each participant.

Who should attend this?

This course is intended for professionals who want to implement Scrum in their workplace. If you have already begun Scrum implementation in your organization and want to verify your knowledge, you would also benefit from this course. Scrum applies to any size and type of organization.

If your business is not yet generating revenue from commercial activity, you may be eligible for funding if you are in an LAE identified priority sector (See Section 4.2)

Digital Nova Scotia will facilitate the funding process based on the information provided in the application below. Employees must be receiving full-time compensation while in training to be eligible for WIPSI funding. This may include employees who are full-time seasonal.

What are the program outcomes?

Upon completion of the program, you will have confidence in understanding Scrum and how it can be applied directly in organizations. You’ll have practiced concepts related to Scrum in class, and reflected on your learnings during the course, sharing them in small teams in the class.
