Welcome to Digital Nova Scotia, Bernardo!

The entire Digital Nova Scotia team is very excited to introduce you to welcome our newest Co-Op Communications Coordinator, Bernardo Vilchis! Born in Mexico and after spending a few years in Houston, Texas, Bernardo decided to aim his sight towards Canada and that’s how he landed in Truro, NS. Currently finishing his diploma in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration at NSCC, Bernardo will be joining us as a Co-op Team member for the next five weeks. Although fairly new to the marketing environment he is bringing communications skills, creative problem-solving skills, and an enthusiasm for work and professional development. Outside of DNS, Bernardo enjoys working out, playing video games or simply taking a long walk to get out and off the computer. We asked Bernardo some quick questions to help introduce him to the DNS community, here are his responses; What excites you the most about the tech sector in Nova Scotia? Knowing that it’s on its path to improving and incrementing its potential and being able to contribute a little bit to that change. While you work or study, what do you have playing in the background? Usually when I am pulling an all-nighter to finish the school assignments I have the office playing in the background. It’s my white noise. What do you love most about your program at University? What I love the most about my program is how helpful and dedicated the teachers and staff are. What is your dream career? Where do you see yourself in five years? In ten years, I see myself working in marketing. Maybe open my own marketing firm or work for a larger corporation like Microsoft in their marketing department What’s your favourite social media platform? My all-time favorite social media is Snapchat but, I’m as guilty as the next guy to be spending WAY too much time on TikTok. What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? Three items I would take to a desert island would a solar-powered radio, a water bottle and some puzzles
