Today, we welcomed our new Office Manager to the DNS Team! Angie is a bright, cheery and enthusiastic professional, and we’re thrilled to have her as part of our organization! Find out a little more about Angie below, and drop her a line anytime to touch base.
You’re bringing with you a ton of experience from both here in Nova Scotia and away! Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m originally from Nova Scotia and have been working in professional office positions for 15 years. I completed my BSc degree at Mount Saint Vincent University, and then immediately jumped into the non-profit world. For my first job, I worked with Easter Seals Nova Scotia and then moved out west to work as a Fund Development Officer for non-profit organizations in Alberta. Having relocated back to Nova Scotia just this year, I’m thrilled to be home, along with my four-legged friends, Teddy the dog, and cats Pickles and Weeble.
What’s your interest in the tech sector and what are you most looking forward to?
I am excited to work in the tech industry as it is constantly changing and growing! There is always something new and exciting to learn about, and I am especially interested in developments in the Robotic industry.
We know you’ve just started… literally, 6 hours ago – but what’s your favourite thing about the job so far?
My favourite thing about the job so far? The team here! They’ve been so incredibly warm and welcoming, and the coffee’s pretty good too!
What’s something you’re passionate about that a stranger might be surprised by?
Having an accessible community, whether that means making businesses and attractions accessible for people with mobility challenges, or access to online resources or even the internet as a whole. I love that Technology can lower the barriers that people encounter.
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
