Following three years of exceptional leadership, Digital Nova Scotia’s CEO, Wayne Sumarah has officially announced his retirement as of the end of May 2023.
Joining the non-profit in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic, Wayne launched a new chapter for the organization, one that was filled with growth, strengthened relationships, and the wonderful team that we have today. Under Wayne’s leadership, the organization has grown membership by more than 50%, expanded the team by 130%, and increased revenues and new projects by more than 136%.
Beyond the metrics, Wayne has been an admired leader within the organization, creating a positive, respectful, and collaborative environment, and his legacy will continue to be felt following his much-deserved retirement.
The Board of Directors of Digital Nova Scotia are excited to congratulate Wayne on his recent decision to move on to this next chapter of his life, alongside his wife Sandy.
“Wayne’s strategic, kind and people-focused approach brought new light to Digital Nova Scotia, and to our sector. We will miss him but as a grandfather of 5 we know he will be kept blissfully busy! On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, and team, we wish Wayne the best and feel confident that our industry will continue to benefit from his leadership.” shares Jenn Priske, Chair, Board of Directors.
Wayne has been a champion of our province’s growing tech sector, and news will be shared shortly as the Board of Directors takes steps to find his successor.
