Rumin8 Group, led by founder and CEO Dave Reynolds, is making significant strides in the consulting industry with a unique Socratic approach that uncovers hidden opportunities for growth and empowers clients from diverse sectors to success. Reynolds’ entrepreneurial journey began with his first company, QuickSnap, which he pitched on the TV show Dragons’ Den. After exiting that venture, he spent a decade in the telecommunications industry, where he discovered his true passion: coaching and working with people one-on-one. This experience became the foundation for his next venture, as he began providing consulting services to businesses in the real estate and mortgage industries, helping them improve their processes and achieve greater success. As word of his success spread, he was soon sought out by clients in various industries, from law firms to construction companies.
In 2020, Reynolds decided to fully commit to his consulting practice, leaving his telecommunications job to focus on Rumin8 Group, the company he had been building on the side. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Rumin8 has flourished, working with over 100 companies across a wide range of industries. By leveraging his keen ability to ask the right questions, Reynolds has built a consultancy that blends executive coaching, performance management, succession planning, and customized learning programs to drive transformative change.
“A lot of the people we work with in organizations, teams, and individuals really have most of the answers,” Reynolds explained of Rumin8’s Socractic method. “It’s just that they don’t have them in a structured system.”
By flipping the puzzle pieces and guiding clients through the process of putting the pieces together, Rumin8 delivers executable strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs.
While the firm has worked with clients of all sizes, from startups to multinational enterprises, Reynolds has a particular affinity for supporting Atlantic Canadian tech companies. Rumin8 excels at commercialization, new market entry, and building customer advocacy, helping startups scale from one to hundreds of customers.
“What we work on is asking, ‘How do we develop leadership culture within the organization?’ So then they can embrace some of the philosophies that we have and lead with more ownership and accountability,” said Reynolds.

In addition to collaborating closely with organizations such as Digital Nova Scotia, Reynolds is gearing up for an exciting launch of his new book, set to arrive in August or September. The book dives into Rumin8’s unique Socratic approach to consulting, empowering clients to uncover their own solutions through thoughtful questioning.
