Ocean Edge Media: Crafting Digital Experiences with Heart and Precision
When Ocean Pratt was growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, she saw firsthand what it takes to build something from the ground up. Early exposure to running small businesses taught her the hard work, resourcefulness, and resilience required to succeed. After helping with her family’s marketing, she realized how much she loved helping brands grow, and she wanted the freedom to do it on her own terms. That led her to create Ocean Edge Media, a women-owned digital studio in Nova Scotia. She builds websites, apps, branding, and digital experiences that work for the businesses she serves. And yes, her name really is Ocean. She gets asked that a lot.

“No, it’s not a stage name,” she says. “Yes, people do expect me to be good at water sports.” Ocean Edge Media works with both brand-new businesses and established companies looking to strengthen their online presence. Whether a client is starting from scratch or ready to level up their digital presence, Ocean takes a one-on-one approach to help bring their vision to life. The boutique, one-on-one approach means clients work directly with Ocean, who takes the time to understand each brand’s goals and personality.
“Seeing clients light up when their business finally looks and feels like the vision they’ve had in their head - that’s the real success,” Ocean says.

Inclusivity shapes everything about how the studio shows up - from who it serves to how clients are treated. Ocean creates a space where clients feel safe sharing their goals and challenges. She explains things clearly, meets clients where they are, and collaborates so every brand is represented authentically. For Ocean, one of the highlights of running Ocean Edge Media has been connecting with other entrepreneurs and businesses. Sharing knowledge, celebrating wins, and supporting each other makes the journey richer and more rewarding. For anyone starting their own venture, her advice is simple: “You are more capable than you think. Surround yourself with supportive people, mentors, and other entrepreneurs, and don’t let doubt hold you back — you belong here.”Running a business has shown her that entrepreneurship is a 24/7 commitment, but it also offers flexibility in ways that matter most. As a mom of three, Ocean can structure her days around her family while building a business that makes an impact.Looking ahead, Ocean Edge Media is growing intentionally, expanding globally while keeping the personal, one-on-one experience clients value. The roadmap includes refining custom services, adding trusted team members, opening a studio space, and deepening connections with other entrepreneurs. At the end of the day, Ocean Edge Media isn’t just building websites. It’s helping people grow confident, feel proud of their brands, and create lasting impact. And yes, with a name like Ocean, she’s making waves in the digital world, one brand at a time.
