Join Digital Nova Scotia, at the Centre for Women in Business's annual INNOVATE event celebrating innovation and diversity in technology on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 3:30 – 5:00pm. Our 5th Annual Digital Diversity Awards will be presented at part of the event. The Digital Diversity Awards were established in 2016 to highlight inspiring and influential female leaders working in the tech sector in Nova Scotia. Together we are recognizing that diversity is fueling innovation in our province, and the impact and influence of leaders in our community. Our growing digital economy is constantly changing and our 2020 Digital Diversity Awards have expanded to continue to represent this diverse workforce. Next Generation Leadership This award celebrates an emerging female leader or entrepreneur in Nova Scotia’s tech sector who is actively growing her career or advancing her company in the industry while she develops her leadership skills. Fueling the Digital Economy This award celebrates a female leader in a senior-level executive position for a tech or digital company, division or organization who has made a significant contribution to Nova Scotia’s tech sector and is an active champion of diversity in her community or organization. Change Maker This award celebrates an individual who has proactively inspired diversity in tech through community engagement, working with underrepresented groups and creative initiatives. Diversity and Inclusion Champion This award celebrates a company or organization that actively promotes the importance of diversity and inclusion in Nova Scotia’s tech sector by implementing strategies for welcoming workplaces, diverse hiring practices and inclusion initiatives. Shaping the Future This award celebrates a company or organization that has taken a proactive interest in shaping the future workforce in Nova Scotia’s tech sector by working with underrepresented groups, rural communities, and/or new immigrants, by promoting and inspiring youth working in tech, and by recognizing transferrable skills in the workplace. The five awards will be presented this year by Digital Nova Scotia’s very own CEO Wayne Sumarah- we can’t wait to celebrate the winners!
