Encouraging Curiosity in Youth with our EPIC Gigabyte Sponsor, REDspace!

Over the past 8 years, our Digital Discovery Camp, in partnership with the Discovery Centre, has brought interactive learning together with the tech sector to provide an unforgettable experience for youth, showing them innovative technologies being developed right here in Nova Scotia. In 2021, we welcomed 70 campers from diverse backgrounds, engaged 15 industry mentors, and hosted camps in 6 locations across the province - and this year, we will be hosting 90 campers across our 6 locations! Since the camp began, REDspace has gone above and beyond to support the camps as our EPIC Gigabyte Sponsor! With the help of industry, mentorship and sponsors the camps have encouraged curiosity while exploring a variety of tech topics that can include video game development, coding, robotics, and hardware.

With REDspace’s ongoing support and mentorship, our Digital Discovery Campers became developers of apps, websites, and games, exploring what it’s like to think like a programmer with a hilarious, interactive and eye-opening activity using jelly sandwiches. They also had the opportunity to visit REDspace’s gorgeous office in Bedford, allowing them to experience what it would be like to work for one of Nova Scotia’s best software development companies. We’re not going to lie, they may or may not have LOVED their giant red slide. Without REDspace’s ongoing support for our Digital Discovery Camp, nothing would be possible!
