Empowering Innovators: Access Advanced AI Computing with New Federal Funding

At Digital Nova Scotia, we’re committed to supporting our province’s tech companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs as they build the future of innovation. One of the biggest barriers for AI development today is access to the advanced computing power needed to train and deploy cutting-edge, responsible AI.

That’s why we’re excited to share that the Government of Canada has launched the AI Compute Access Fund, part of its new Canadian Sovereign AI Compute Strategy. This fund will help Canadian researchers, startups, and SMEs get the high-performance computing resources they need to scale their AI projects and stay competitive on the global stage.

Who’s eligible?
This fund is open to Canadian post-secondary institutions, researchers, early-stage companies, and small businesses working on AI projects that need significant computing capacity. Whether you’re developing new AI models, testing applications, or scaling up solutions, this program can help bridge the gap and keep your innovation rooted in Canada.

Why this matters for Nova Scotia:
Our province is home to a vibrant AI and tech community. Access to affordable, advanced computing resources is critical for our members to push boundaries, build responsibly, and grow right here at home. This fund is an important step towards leveling the playing field for local innovators and ensuring Canada’s AI future remains secure and sovereign.
