OCTOBER 24, 2023 – HALIFAX, NSDigital Nova Scotia, the industry association for Nova Scotia’s thriving ICT sector, is pleased to announce its new Tech Sales Plus pilot program, in partnership with Uvaro, a Career Success platform that offers tech sales training and career development.

Funded by DIGITAL, Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster for digital technologies, and supported in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program, this free 12-week program offers participants in Atlantic Canada the skills, knowledge and confidence to land and excel in a technical sales or customer success role, addressing the gap in customer-facing talent in Atlantic Canada’s digital sector.

“Digital Nova Scotia is unwavering in our commitment to fostering growth in our province’s vibrant tech sector,” said Owen Sagness, CEO of Digital Nova Scotia. “With the introduction of Tech Sales Plus, we are well-positioned to support local employers in finding talent equipped with both technical and soft skills, which has been identified as an area of industry need.”

Tech Sales Plus will upskill 100 individuals, who will not only receive sales training, but also a complimentary one-year Uvaro membership, which gives them exclusive access to their catalog of programming and educational resources.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Digital Nova Scotia,” said Uvaro CEO and co-founder Joseph Fung. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to help professionals lead more fulfilling careers. By providing access to our platform, we’re confident that we can help members of Digital Nova Scotia land successful roles in tech and support them throughout their career journey. We’re particularly excited about supporting the growing tech ecosystem in Atlantic Canada.”

“Supporting equity and diversity within Canada’s technology sector is crucial to our country’s continued growth and prosperity,” said Sydney Goodfellow, Director of DIGITAL’s talent-focused program, the Digital Learning Lab. “DIGITAL is proud to partner with organizations like Digital Nova Scotia and Uvaro to involve more Atlantic Canadians in the digital economy.”

Both Digital Nova Scotia and Uvaro are excited to expand and grow this partnership to further support the tech ecosystem in Atlantic Canada.
