Digital Nova Scotia joins ICTC Board of Directors as the first East Coast representative in 25 years

The East Coast tech scene is on the rise, and Nova Scotia is leading the way in helping carve its footprint. For the first time since its inception in 1992, the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) will have East Coast representation around the Boardroom table.

Since joining Digital Nova Scotia (DNS) in 2013 as the President & CEO, I have had a vision for Nova Scotia to compete on a global scale – and I know I’ve not been alone. Together, we have been committed to advancing Nova Scotia’s ICT and digital sectors, and our efforts are really making a positive impact. After close to five years of building a strong foundation at DNS, and many years in the tech sector (spanning five geographic regions), I am extremely proud to share that I was invited to join the Board of Directors for ICTC, based out of Ottawa. ICTC has brought together individuals with different backgrounds and expertise from across the country who share the same vision, and it is a truly an energizing, humbling and very stimulating experience to be involved with this group. In Nova Scotia, we have leaders, innovators, and changemakers – and I am extremely honoured to be representing them in this new capacity. This is our opportunity to not only learn from best practices and collaborate on nationwide initiatives, but also to share our learnings, discoveries, and successes from Nova Scotia, with influencers in Canada. I am looking forward to contributing to the positive impact the organization has on our country and industry, and supporting them as they continue to influence national and international policies, programs, and opportunities that help propel us even further. This is a huge milestone and accomplishment for our team, our organization, and our entire region. It will enable Digital Nova Scotia to engage with, and benefit from a national network that represents the digital economy in Canada, and beyond. After all, technology allows us to discover new opportunities, conquer challenges, enhance equality, increase accessibility, and impact global change – it allows us to solve problems across borders like never before. It’s changing our views on and approach to healthcare, education, travel, business, and more – its possibilities are limitless. These are very exciting times to be in our sector - and I, for one, can’t wait to see what we can do next.
