Atlantic Labour Market Brief: October 2025
Canada
- Employment grew at a strong pace in October, up from the prior month by 66,600 jobs.
- Part-time jobs increased while full-time jobs declined.
- The unemployment rate fell in the month to 6.9%, influenced by the solid job gains.
- The goods-producing sector lost jobs in October (-1,100), while the services producing sector saw growth of 67,600 jobs.

Atlantic Canada
- Employment declined during the month by 1,300 jobs.
- Full-time jobs increased alongside fewer part-time.
- The unemployment rate declined slightly in October to 7.9%, hovering just below a 12-month high (8.0%).
- The services-producing sector gained 3,500 jobs in the month of October, while the goods-producing sector saw a decline of 4,800 jobs.
