We are thrilled to kick off the year 2024 by welcoming two exceptional individuals to our team! Yidan Zhang has joined our expanding Digital Nova Scotia family in the role of Marketing & Communications Coordinator. I embarked on a journey from China to Canada six years ago for my studies and earned my Bachelor'sdegree in Commerce at Dalhousie University. I have an adorable cat who is also my roommate. I'm passionate about the creative aspects of the business industry, especially in marketing. Promoting fantastic products and services to a broader audience brings me immense satisfaction. Excited to explore more delightful experiences! What excites you the most about the tech sector in Nova Scotia? Is there an area that interests you the most? Exploring the tech scene in Nova Scotia fuels my excitement, especially within digital marketing. The endless possibilities and potential opportunities for innovation and growth here are like a canvas waiting for creative strokes! Weaving tech seamlessly into marketing strategies, embracing data as a storyteller, and navigating the digital field with curiosity are aspects that deeply resonate with me! What's your favourite way to spend a day off? On my day off, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and baking in winter, and heading to the beach with my friends to enjoy the beautiful view in the summer! What’s something you're passionate about that might surprise us? I’ve started learning piano without any musical background, beginning with the grand staff . It’s a fun challenge and experience! Tell us about yourself! I was born and raised in England and have proudly called Halifax my home since 2006. I graduated from the Bachelor of Management program at Dalhousie University where I gained a passion for entrepreneurship which led me to run my own roller skate business for 6 years. What excites you the most about the tech sector in Nova Scotia? Is there an area that interests you the most?I’m excited to be a part of helping to support Tourism growth and I am hoping to utilize my business skills in the tech industry!What's your favourite way to spend a day off?I love reading, spending time with my two cats and hitting the lakes in summer. What’s something you're passionate about that might surprise us?I really enjoy interior decorating and thrifting home decor items.What three items you cannot live without (excluding food, water etc-)?My New York Times games subscription, Contigo water bottle and a good lip balm.Quick hitters!
