Is this role right for you:

As Technical Business Analyst, you transform raw project ideas into actionable requirements. You have a clear understanding of the various departments and how they fit together, and this view allows you to identify problems and make recommendations on improvements. You interface with all departments and interview stakeholders in the early stages of a project to make it ready for implementation. You forge and maintain contacts with existing project teams and new acquisitions in order to maintain a holistic view of the company. You can juggle multiple projects and competing priorities. You are equally comfortable with written and verbal communication. You can put yourself in the mindset of an end user of a proposed project or tool in order to make sure all end users will be able to effectively and easily use the final product. You help mentor and guide junior business analysts to help them reach your own level of expertise.

What we want you to own in this role:

  • Interview stakeholders to gather their requirements for a new project;
  • Maintain regular contact with project management and commercial teams to stay on top of new projects as they emerge;
  • Write drafts of requirements documents and get feedback from stakeholders to ensure accuracy;
  • Write final requirements documents that are ‘implementation-ready’;
  • Keep track of changes to projects currently being implemented in order to document any scope creep;
  • Answer questions and clarify requirements from teams involved in implementation;
  • Guide improvements to overall requirements gathering process by learning from past projects, and documenting these changes;
  • Communicate effectively within your team, with your manager, with other teams and with key company stakeholders;
  • Review and provide feedback on the requirements documents generated by your teammates;
  • Participate and provide valuable contributions in departmental planning and initiatives;
  • Understand the side effects and trickle-down impact – both current and future – of the changes and decisions you make;
  • Identify large roadblocks, lead research and implementation of solutions in line with operational goals;
  • Initiate, guide and build development workflow processes and documentation;

A little bit about you and your qualifications:

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, UX design, Technical Writing, or a related field or equivalent experience;
  • 5+ years Professional Business Analyst, Software Development, or UX Design experience;
  • Demonstrable ability to write effectively for both business and technical audiences;
  • The ability to understand the details of a project without losing sight of the big picture;
  • The ability to understand the big picture of a project without losing track of the details;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Attentive and responsive to the team and environment;
  • Committed and dedicated to your work;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate work;
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker and worker;
  • Adaptable and persistent to achieve goals despite roadblocks and change;
  • Collaborative leader keen to work in a team environment;

  • International travel may be required.
