The Opportunity:

Maplewave is looking for an experienced Team Lead – Business Technical Analyst to lead our team of analysts in the Delivery department. The Team Lead will work with their team to deploy enterprise solutions and will report to the Director of Delivery. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for requirements and analysis, design definition, documentation, validation and testing, project coordination and team mentorship. This role engages with customers, partners, 3rd party vendors, and internal stakeholders to develop functional designs to guide the development of complex integrations.

This is a remote position based in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Gather and interpret business requirements from external and internal stakeholders
  • Design and map data between both internal and external systems.
  • Supervise remote team members and ensure they are progressing in their tasks, while creating a pleasant and enjoyable work environment that inspires people.
  • Assist in the hiring and performance management of your team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels bymanaging vacation requests and leaves.
  • Develop and document detailed functional specifications in partnership with the Software Development team.
  • Act as the customer proxy to the Development team and provide answers and clarifications throughout development.
  • Act as a technical voice to our Project Manager and work with Product Owners.
  • Support Solution Architects, Product Analysts, Product Managers and Project Managers in the ongoing delivery of projects, including but not limited to Training and Implementation.
  • Assist in managing a change request process when new requirements surface.
  • Create – Statement of Work- documents that break down the level of effort and cost based on functional design.
  • Work with Technical Writers to create training documents and user guides.


  •  Must have Computer Science or Engineering, Software Diploma, Technical Diploma, or related professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in development and/or as a Business Analyst/Technical/Functional Analyst role developing functional designs and being the Subject Matter Expert in a project team;
  • Experience working with Linux.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software specifically Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel. In additional diagramming tools such as
  • Experience writing technical design documents based on a solution design document / User Requirement Specification / Business Requirement Document
  • Experience interacting with Technical and Solution architects within and outside an organization
  • Deep understanding of system and data architecture.
  • Experience in designing web services, and software delivery (net new and out of box) in medium to large organizations (Global experience would be an asset).
  • Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Familiarity with Telco OSS/BSS Enterprise Systems .
  • Previous team leadership experience for a team of 3 or more- able to recruit, retain talent and coach through performance feedback and mentorship.

Additional experience that would be preferred, but not required:

  •  Knowledge of Ruby and .Net.
  • Familiarity with Telco OSS/BSS Enterprise Systems .
  • Experience working in a retail environment (telco retail preferred).
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps or other user story management/software delivery applications (e.g. Jira) would be an asset;
