MatrixCare is looking for a Systems Architect responsible for the design and development of innovative cloud native platform solutions. This position reports to our Director of Enterprise Architecture and will work closely with engineering leadership and in coordination with the R&D engineering group.

Our goal is to craft a reliable, scalable and efficient ecosystem to support MatrixCare’s technical solutions. We are looking for an architect who has a deep understanding of large-scale distributed cloud native systems, automation, software development, outstanding design skills and a track record with monolithic decomposition.

This role is a highly technical, hands-on role and the architect will be required to develop and maintain an expertise in MatrixCare platform products. The Systems Architect will work closely with platform and software engineers and other internal groups to R&D supporting new technologies and use cases based on engineering, operations, and architectural needs.

The individual must be a decisive, flexible, and resourceful technical thought leader. The candidate must possess an unwavering commitment to quality, accountability and be a champion of continuous improvement.

Our Ideal Candidate is:

  • A change agent. A person who is equally as adept at selling modernization concepts to both product management and development teams
  • Someone who has the ability to do both tactical and strategic thinking; you are capable of solving the immediate problems in front of you, but at the same time can see 4 moves ahead. You see little fires as big opportunities
  • Someone who understands cloud native architectures, and can leverage those architectures to create maintainable, resilient, and scalable systems. You understand the economies of cloud computing
  • Toolset and technology agnostic: comfortable with allowing teams to choose the best approaches to solving problems
  • Able to help drive our organization into a new era of microservices.
  • Not afraid of staring down big monoliths
  • Familiar with system interoperability

Comfortable with

  • Working alongside and collaborating with other architects
  • Driving continuous improvement
  • Implementing industry standard monolithic decomposition practices and patterns

Skills and Experience Required for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or information systems (Masters in CS Preferred)
  • 8-10 years of experience in the Software Engineering field
  • Experience with DevOps, Cloud and related technologies to drive optimization in software solutions
  • Proven experience developing strategic software architecture plans and modernization of solutions
  • Experience in software solution creation and development
