Is this role right for you:

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) regarding a portfolio of poker sites, the Social Media Community Manager will be responsible for creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the brands’ social media properties. Your passion and understanding for social media as a communications tool will result in the adoption and implementation of social media best practices across all social media channels in your portfolio and optimizing content so that it is engaging on each channel. You must be responsive and engaged with our online audience, beginning with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, then expanding into YouTube and Discord. You will be required to leverage your excellent communications skills, passion for poker, versatile creative writing, visual storytelling skills and team-oriented attitude to proactively contribute to the brands’ social media presence and help achieve subscriber growth KPIs for the brands. You will be an active participant in data collection and analyses in order to consistently improve the company’s social media practices over time.

What we want you to own in this role:

  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, or video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action;
  • Build community and grow our audience by converting viewers of our social media content into followers, enticing them to follow and subscribe to our social profiles and email communications;
  • Assist in the development and management of link building using digital channels;
  • Provide recommendations on social media processes and supporting your team to achieve defined goals and objectives;
  • Assist the DMM and Content Manager to complete competitive research, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification;
  • Develop editorial calendars and syndication schedules that are consistent with the digital marketing strategy, brand identity, marketing roadmap, and important dates in the brands’ calendars;
  • Manage a high volume of daily social media posts, and proactively create content in- house;
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility and engagement rates of the brands’ social content;
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community;
  • Communicate with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner;
  • Continuously improve the brands’ social media presence by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then bringing forward recommendations to act on the information;
  • Collaborate with other departments (SEO, paid media, content, conversion, product, etc.) to manage brand reputation, identify key initiatives and coordinate actions;
  • Prepare monthly reports on social media marketing efforts;
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media;
  • Perform other duties when needed, such as assisting with event coordination, logistics, and communication.

A little bit about you and your qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience managing social media for brands or publishers;
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience using Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Discord;
  • Basic knowledge of poker at minimum, and passion for the game;
  • Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or related field such as Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, Design, or Media Studies;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • A thorough understanding of social media management and strategy;
  • Demonstrable experience with social analytics tools knowledge, such as Google Analytics, Rival IQ, Facebook Insights, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative suite or other media creation applications (i.e., Canva or Figma) to edit your videos and images;
  • Create highlight clips, gifs, and social videos across a variety of poker-related content (posted on TikTok and Instagram);
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Strong project management or organizational skills is an asset;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
  • Creative mindset, intellectually curious and interested in illuminating strategy in accessible, clever ways;
  • Proactive, team player with strong interpersonal skills.
