Position Overview

Under the direction of the Communications Strategist and Project Manager, the Senior Content Writer will lead content creation, refinement, and management that is clear, strategic, and tailored to our clients’ goals. This role requires strong research skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, excellent written and spoken communication, and the initiative to confidently own the writer’s seat on our team.

Language

A strong command of the English language

Education

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional writing experience, ideally in B2B/B2G marketing environments, especially across science, technology, education, health, or medical sectors.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, social media management, and visual content production.
  • Proven research skills and working knowledge of SEO, digital paid media, social media, and digital PR.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
  • Critical thinking and the ability to ask strong questions to extract necessary information
  • Strong writing and editing across formats: web copy, email, articles, case studies, PRs, social media, and more
  • Skilled at writing clear, concise, purpose-driven copy that answers the 5Ws
  • Confident in participating in client discovery sessions and translating findings for the team and into content for the client
  • Ability to interpret gaps, “read between the lines,” intuit what the client seeks, and clarify objectives
  • Understanding of brand voice and consistency across touchpoints
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects in collaboration with internal and external teams
  • Take initiative and do what needs to be done
  • Dependable: show up early, hit deadlines, and do what it takes to deliver excellence.
  • Organized: clean files, tracked tasks, and work that is cleanly formatted and easy to follow

Responsibilities:

Content Creation
Write, edit, and proofread blogs, articles, websites, case studies, emails, whitepapers, PRs, ad copy, social media posts, etc.

Content Strategy
Support planning and development aligned with client goals and SEO best practices

Content Management
Oversee the continuity, updates, and consistency of written materials across client assets

Brand Voice Stewardship
Ensure the alignment of voice and tone guidelines for each client

SEO Optimization
Collaborate with analysts to enhance organic visibility through search-optimized content

Editorial Review
Provide constructive feedback and maintain quality standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Communications Strategist, Lead Designer, Project Manager, and marketing leads to support client deliverables

Performance Tracking
Contribute to ongoing improvements based on content analytics and user behaviour

Technology and Application Competency: macOS, Microsoft Office

Work Environment:

  • Frequent deadline-driven requests, including tight turnaround content creation and copyedits
