Quality Assurance Analyst
The Opportunity:
We are looking for Quality Assurance Analyst to join Nova Scotia Power’s IT Team in a Term position (Maternity Leave).
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the test portion of the project plan (tasks, dependencies, effort, resources, timeline)
• Coordinates all test activities, resources and test team members within each assigned project.
- Measure progress, monitors and reports on the status of the test initiatives against the plan and acceptance criteria
- Identify issues & risks
- Lead, coach and support test team members as required (Test Leader)
- Responsible for planning, monitoring and control of all testing related tasks.
- Develops test objectives, test strategies and test plans.
- Estimates the testing to be done and secures appropriate testing resources.
- Ensures the readiness of the technical test environment.
- Leads the analysis, design, implementation and execution of test cases.
- Measures, monitors and reports on the status of the test deliverables
- Ensure the traceability of all test cases and defects back to business requirements or required functionality
- Ensure integrity and readiness of the technical test environment(s) for all test activities
- Leads the analysis, design, implementation and execution of test cases.
- Track and manage defects (including identification, assessment, prioritization, tracking, retesting)
- Work with the source teams (vendor, IT, business) to manage delivery of defect resolutions (e.g.: Emergency Break Fixes from vendor, environment fixes from IT, configuration or business process fixes from business.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 5 years’ plus experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role (Test Lead), on technology intensive projects.
- Experience using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Lake and experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, and SQL
- Experience building and executing testing plans plus experience supervising people in testing roles.
- Acute attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure are critical attributes of the role along with communicating to management with well supported recommendations.
- Team player qualities and the ability to set high performance expectations within a team and also be able to motivate and support individuals to achieve them.
- Quality Assurance certifications is an asset.
