Therefore, we are currently looking to fill the position of Operations Reporting Analyst to join us in supporting NSPs Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution.
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is a secure communication network system that involves advanced communication technology and meters. The meters used in AMI systems are commonly referred to as “smart meters” as they allow for remote two-way communication capability which enables a wide variety of benefits including operational efficiencies that translate into customer savings.
As a member of the Smart Meter Operations Centre (SMOC) Team, you will join a dynamic group of responsive professionals responsible for performing the tasks required to guarantee our customers high quality, billing-ready data.
This key function is within the Smart Meter Operations Center and operates in a fast paced, demanding environment. As a key member of the SMOC Support Team, you will be accountable for the timely and accurate data collected from the AMI Smart Meters. You will specifically have the following accountabilities:
- Develop visually articulate dashboards that convey relevant information based on business requirements
- Review data sources, data, and work flows to interpolate and extrapolate data
- Develop and review reports from large and complex structured data sets
- Develop and debug complex SQL queries involving multiple data sources
- Develop and maintain data catalogs, data dictionaries, and data models (experience with TabPy Python or similar tools)
- Developing tests and test cases to validate data sources and support new data set integrations
- Create ad-hoc reports to address emergent business needs
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
When necessary, must be flexible and be available for after hour emergency service restoration.
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Engineering Technology (or related experience) is required for this position. Related experience supporting meter technologies, customer information systems, and work management systems is considered an asset.
As the successful candidate you will also demonstrate the following:
- Experienced at requirements building, data modelling, and workflow development aligning to business process
- Advanced experience with SQL, relational database querying, etc.
- Familiarity with the concepts of quantitative business, statistical modelling and machine learning
- Detailed business analysis skills – capable of diving deep to understand business user-needs
- Experience with data transformation
- Experience with data quality management, including data profiling, assessment and classification
- ITIL / ITSM / ServiceNow experience is considered an asset
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of productivity tools is considered an asset (e.x., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with change management methodologies
- Experience delivering services with a customer-centric mindset
