We are looking for Mobile Team Leads to help manage and grow our world-class team of developers.

As a Mobile Team Lead at REDspace, you are responsible for guiding and supporting a team of developers with varied skills and experience levels towards successful project deliveries. In this role, you will still be working hands-on with code and will support the creation of innovative software and applications for a variety of global clients. You will become part of a team that works on complex and cutting edge iOS apps, games and many other projects for the world’s leading media and entertainment brands. You’re the first to know about new trends or tools and always looking for the next challenge to tackle.

About the Role

  • Provide technical leadership to your reports through regular check-ins and providing continual coaching and mentorship.
  • Lead a team of developers in the delivery of high quality, innovative mobile solutions.
  • Mentor  team members, and help create achievable goals for your reports to support their ongoing growth.
  • Demonstrate leadership in your communication style and approach.
  • Represent REDspace both internally and externally, taking an active role as required in recruitment, tech shares, meet-ups, conferences, and other company sponsored events.
  • Work with clients and on projects in a senior developer or project lead capacity.

Skills/experience.

  • 5 or more years of senior iOS development experience developing mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, and other mobile technologies supported by an IT Diploma or Bachelor/Master of Computer Science.
  • Strong team leadership and communication skills and ability to mentor and coach.
  • Strong problem solving skills used to deploy solutions quickly.
  • Proficient at contributing code in existing code bases and creating applications from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of the following:
    • Objective-C, Swift, and experience with iOS Apps or Framework development
    • Object-Oriented programming experience
  • Ability to analyze assigned tasks, provide accurate work estimates, and manage time to keep development on schedule.
  • Experience publishing your own Apps on App Store or have worked on a team that has done so.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to explain complex technical issues.
  • Work well in an ever-changing, fast-paced, high-pressure environment that requires meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a group alongside team members including developers, designers, project managers, and clients as well as individually.
  • Great attitude and sense of humour (even if it’s just making yourself laugh). You’ll be hard-pressed to find egos around here.
  • A desire to work with a variety of technologies as well as the ability to adapt to change and willingness to learn new technologies.

 

Bonus Points.

  • Experience in tvOS and other Apple platforms (macOS, watchOS, etc) is a great asset.
  • Experience working on video streaming technologies is an asset.
  • Experience in one or more Android domains including Java applications, Android SDK/NDK is an asset.
  • Previous experience with other mobile SDKs, as well as knowledge of cross-platform tools like React Native, Flutter,  Unity, etc.
