Development Lead (Bedford,NS)

What is the opportunity?

  • Perform requirements analysis, software design, estimation, development, and project tracking.
  • Participate in system/architectural design and evaluation.
  • Lead development activities in a global Agile team environment
  • Provide assistance to the application support team in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • Manage all aspects of implementation planning and coordination activities with technology counterparts and Infrastructure
  • Produce and communicate appropriate level of status to senior management
  • Proactively identify technology operational risks/compliance issues and remediate as necessary
  • Demonstrate technology leadership by collaboration with internal and external technology groups

Must Have:

  • 5+ Years hands-on experience in using core Java, Web services/ RESTful APIs , AngularJS UI, Spring Framework, Unix Scripting, Git/SVN, Maven, Eclipse for Java, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Good knowledge and experience in networking, Linux server configuration, Tomcat, and other system related infrastructures
  • Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, XML/JSON and message queueing services
  • Working experience with Agile processes and DevOps tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication

Nice to have:

  • Big Data engineering (Data Lake), using Hadoop, Scala, and Spark.
  • Good knowledge of cloud technology: PCF, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Technical leadership roles
  • Static code analyzers – NexusIQ, SonarQube, Checkmarx, etc.
