Development Intern

  • Frontend: Modern JavaScript stack using Vue.js, Pinia and Tailwind
  • Backend: Python, Flask, Celery, Kafka, SQLAlchemy
  • Databases: MySQL (Aurora), ElasticSearch
  • Infrastructure: GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, AWS

Learning Outcomes

  • Modern web technologies including VueJS frameworks, Python and more
  • Code design and code efficiency
  • Experience of working with big data
  • Continuous Deployment / Continuous Integration with Docker
  • Testing tools including py.test, Jest and Cypress
  • Team communication and collaboration

This internship opportunity is a four (4) month internship from January to April 2025.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

As a Development Intern, you will support the Development team:

  • Supporting new products and features
  • Build/modify backend APIs
  • Write front-end javascript code that consumes APIs
  • Work on bug fixes post-deployment

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to learn and adapt
  • Problem-solving mentality
  • Product-first approach to building software
  • Experience with one or more modern javascript frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular)
  • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
  • Building REST services and API design
  • Automated UI acceptance testing using libraries like Cypress and Jest
  • Hackathons or opensource projects are considered an asset
