Rise Seniors Project Launch

Join BBI for the official launch of the RISE Seniors Project, supporting Black seniors across Atlantic Canada.

RISE Senior Project is an initiative that honours Black seniors as the builders of our community. Through engaging social gatherings, Money Matters workshops for seniors, digital technology guidance, and need-based food supports, RISE promotes the well-being, independence, and connection of Black seniors across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. ‍ This event is open to Black seniors aged 65+, families and caregivers, seniors’ associations, community organizations, faith and community leaders, partners, and organizations serving Black communities across Atlantic Canada. ‍ EVENT HIGHLIGHTS · Learn about the RISE Seniors Project and its goals · Discover upcoming financial and technology workshops · Learn about need-based food supports · Hear about community outreach and connection opportunities · Meet the RISE project team and ask questions SPEAKERS Matthew Martel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Black Business Initiative (BBI) Cynthia Dorrington, President & CEO, Vale and Associates, BBI Board Member ‍ ACCESSIBILITY The event will take place at the North Preston Community Centre.
