SUMMARY:Beyond Usability: Design for Adoption
DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\n\n\n\nYou deliver a flawless product\, built on user needs and tested\, only to watch users quietly ignore it. Sounds familiar? The design isn’t the problem. The transition is. Even the best human-centred process can’t guarantee success if people aren’t ready for change. \nWhat if your work truly solved a problem? What if your products were wholeheartedly welcomed? Kedar Kadam\, our November speaker\, believes the key is guiding people through change during digital transformations and product development. \nWe’ll explore ways to make products (and product changes) stick\, not just get them launched. We’ll dive into running change management alongside human‑centred design from day one to turn user resistance into fast and lasting “yes” and “thank you”. \nJoin us for a discussion on improving user adoption and rediscovering that sense of satisfaction when your work genuinely makes a difference. \n> Agenda\n7:00 PM Doors open\, networking time\n7:15 PM Introductions from the event hosts\, Nata and Ruby\n7:20 PM Beyond Usability: Design for Adoption with Kedar Kadam\n7:50 PM Q&A\n8:15 PM Networking and wrap-up\n8:45 PM Doors close \n> Speaker Bio\nKedar Kadam is a UX leader with over two decades co-creating award-winning healthcare solutions that drive adoption and improve patient outcomes. Former Director of Product Experience at ResMed/MatrixCare\, he scaled high-performing design teams\, embedded AI into human-centered workflows\, and delivered solutions that significantly reduced fall rates and enhanced risk detection across long-term care communities. Author of 1 granted and 16+ published innovation patents in AI/ML-enhanced UX\, Kedar now serves as Sr. Business Consultant at Mara Consulting\, supporting digital health transformation initiatives across Canada and aligning Human-Centred Design with change design to turn user resistance into seamless\, 100% adoption. \n> How to find us at Volta (Halifax\, Nova Scotia)\nEnter at 1800 Argyle St. Proceed up the stairs or use the accessible ramp to the left of the stairs. Take the elevator to the 8th floor. Go through the doors ahead. Volta is on your right. Proceed across the space. Take a left down the hallway after the projection wall. The room is ahead\, to the right. \n> Acknowledgements\nThank you enormously to Volta for sharing their space with us. With this venue\, we can continue to grow and scale our meetups for larger audiences. \n> Support us\nWe are solely volunteer-run and always looking for sponsors. SUMMARY:Crypto\, Blockchain\, AI\, and the Changing Landscape of Financial Markets
DESCRIPTION:Between crypto rebounds\, AI breakthroughs\, and shifting market moods\, 2025 has been full of noise. This session takes a step back to see what’s actually happening underneath it all. We’ll start with the foundations: what makes Bitcoin work\, how blockchain builds trust through decentralization and cryptography\, and what’s new in crypto\, including stablecoins\, tokenization\, institutional investment\, and regulation reshaping the space. \nThen we’ll zoom out to how AI is transforming finance and where these two worlds are beginning to overlap. Using recent market data and investor sentiment\, the talk connects the dots between technology\, capital flows\, and behaviour\, uncovering where innovation is emerging and how markets are responding to it. \n\n6:00PM – 6:15PM: Welcome & Registration\n6:15PM – 6:20PM: Sponsor Speech\n6:20PM – 7:00PM: Presentation\n7:00PM – 7:45PM: Networking\n7:45PM – 8:00PM: Program End
