Meet the Atlantic Indigenous ocean businesses developing innovative ocean technology projects selected under the Samqwane'jk initiative. About this event Samqwane’jk is a first-of-its-kind initiative led by Ulnooweg Development Group in collaboration with COVE and Upswing Solutions. Indigenous ocean businesses were invited to propose projects in partnership with companies at COVE. Three projects have been selected to receive funding support rolled out over two years. Join us on May 26th to meet three Atlantic Indigenous Ocean companies selected to receive support under the Samqwane’jk Ocean Partnership Initiative for their innovative ocean projects. The purpose of the Samqwane’jk initiative includes building partnerships with ocean technology companies to boost competitiveness, enhance innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing for Indigenous and non-Indigenous ocean businesses alike. In addition to funding, the three selected initiatives will receive training and business development support while aiming to deliver measurable progress against the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Open Dialogue Live: The Space Race of the 21st Century

We’re entering a new wave of the space race. Join us for a conversation with our special guests: Canadian Space Agency’s Tony Pellerin, Manager, Mechanical Engineering and Technical lead for the Canadian Cubesat Project and Dalhousie alum, Arad Gharagozli (MASc‘22), who launched GALAXIA, a space hardware and software company. The conversation will discuss satellites and nano satellites, the science and research behind them, and the societal impacts of the space race of the 21st century. This event will be presented in person in the McInnes Room, as well as livestreamed via Dalhousie Alumni and Friends Facebook Live and Dalhousie YouTube. In fact, despite considerable dialogue, adoption of Cloud remains at less than 10 per cent! TECHNATION put forward recommendations in 2015 and then again in 2019 calling on Government to accelerate Cloud adoption, prioritize in-house Cloud education and training, adopt a different operating model, and more. Unfortunately, Government remains hesitant to use leading-edge tech like Intelligent Automation to accelerate progress on delivering broader public policy objectives for Canada.
