Sound in UX: Are we designing enough for it?

Hello Everyone! We hope you’ll join us for the 2nd UX Salon Halifax meetup of 2020. Clearly this year has not gone as anyone expected and, like most groups, we have adapted by going virtual. One silver lining of a virtual event is that we can easily have guest speakers from further away. For this meetup, we welcome Lucas Lacerda, a UX Sound Designer from Ottawa, to talk to us about the importance of sound in UX design practice. Lucas studied Industrial Design and has worked as a Product Designer, Graphic Designer and UX Designer. He is also a musician with a passion for sound. He brought that passion to the healthcare industry where he designs soundscapes that improve health worker and patient experiences by addressing the persistent problem of noise and alarm fatigue in medical settings. Lucas has shared his knowledge of UX sound design through presentations, workshops, and university courses. We’re excited for him to bring his expertise to Halifax with the talk "Sound in UX: Are We Designing Enough For It?" Itinerary 12:25 PM - 12:35 PM: Attendees arrive virtually (on Zoom). 12:35 PM - 12:45 PM: Announcements by Juliana Kroscen 12:45 PM - 1:10 PM: Lucas […]
