Join us on Thursday, March 5, to hear from Chris Cameron, senior vice president of data analytics and evidence synthesis at EVERSANA, as he discusses the sale of his company, Cornerstone Research Group. Chris was previously one of three partners at Cornerstone until it was acquired by EVERSANA in 2019. Cornerstone became Canada's largest health economics and outcomes research consulting firm. Chris is also an adjunct (scholar) professor at Dalhousie Uni TecSocial is a monthly meeting for those with an interest in technology and entrepreneurship. It is a free event and open to the public.

About this Event The Province of Nova Scotia is teaming with the School of Information Management and the Rowe School of Business (Dalhousie University Faculty of Management) to host its fourth annual Open Data Contest on March 7th-8th, 2020 in conjunction with International Open Data Day. The contest will take place from 8:30 AM Saturday, March 7th until approximately 4:30 PM Sunday, March 8th. We are challenging you to create one of the following, using at least one Nova Scotia Open Data dataset within your solution: (1) An application (web / mobile / desktop) that is innovative, easy-to-use, and has the potential to make a positive impact on the economy or address some aspect of healthcare. The app must use at least one Nova Scotia Open Data dataset within the solution and be able to demonstrate its potential for economic growth/commercialization or impact on healthcare/health outcomes. Description Why learn about Gamemaking? From video games to interactive stories, digital media is a powerful way to make your message, cause, or idea stand out in a crowded online world. Canada has become a major leader in the video game industry, yet, like most technology, only a small percentage of games are built by women. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, you will create a game, quiz, or interactive story using HTML & CSS that's centred on a case, community, or message that you care about while learning critical coding skills.   Who is this for? Our Ladies Learning Code workshops offer female-identified and male-identified, trans, and non-binary adults hands-on, project-based learning experiences that are designed to give beginners the skills and confidence they need to become digital creators.   Prerequisites: None! This workshop is designed for absolute beginners!   What's Included: Requirements: Note: If you do not have a laptop to use during the duration of the workshop, we have a very limited quantity that we can loan out.
