AI and Machine learning in the Ocean with DeepSense
Lunch will be provided! Learn about how artificial intelligence and machine learning is being applied in the ocean sector. DeepSense was created to support organizations with resources, both technology infrastructure and skilled researchers, to solve big data challenges at ocean-related organizations. By partnering companies with skilled academic researchers, those working in the ocean space have the opportunity to fully explore AI and machine learning to more easily use data to make decisions, optimize operations or better use data to create new products and services. DeepSense projects help companies develop commercially-useful predictive models, or design and test analytical prototypes and applications for use in the blue economy. DeepSense is a partnership between ACOA, the NS Government, Dalhousie University, IBM and the Ocean Frontier Institute. About the Presenter: Jennifer LaPlante is the Executive Director of DeepSense. She has a strong background in technology and innovation. As the creator of the first Corporate Innovation Outpost at Volta, she has experienced firsthand the challenges with guiding an organization on how to do things differently. Jen has an BA from Bishops, an MBA from Dalhousie and is currently completing an MSc in Computing and Data Analytics at Saint Mary’s University. With a focus on increasing […]
